John Meindl on the
filming of “Failure to Launch”
“We filmed the paintball
scenes during late June of 2005 – on the banks of Lake
Pontchartrain,
in between the Lake and the levee. We were literally 200 yards from the
Lake – in an area that would be devastated by Katrina. During principle
photography the temperature was 103 degrees every day. To make matters
worse, the actors wore black jumpsuits.
The basketball scenes were shot ¼ mile down Lake Shore Drive. The conditions were tough – but became much tougher for many
of the good people we worked with who lost everything at the hands of
Katrina.”
